This year we have reclassified some categories to give us a more accurate picture, but we continue to see fairly consistent results in the top 10 sectors supported through our consultancy and mentoring services. From year to year, sector support is affected by programmes of work with particular funders, some of whom have interests in different areas.
During the year we provided the most consultancy and mentoring support to organisations working in the areas of poverty, disadvantage and social exclusion. Charities working in these areas have continued to face rising demand as the ongoing cost of living crisis and rising inflation have continued to have the most impact on low income households. Charities have also been at the forefront of supporting refugees, asylum seekers and people displaced from countries in conflict, placing additional demand on already stretched organisations.
The growing instances of poverty and social division have made frontline service delivery more challenging. We are pleased to have supported charities working in these areas to build their resilience through strategic planning and stronger financial management, as well as supporting leaders with their personal resilience and confidence.
The number of organisations we have worked with in the mental health sector has also remained high in our top 10 as this sector continues to face significant demand due to the impact of economic and social pressures on people’s mental health and wellbeing.
