Amanda joined the Trust as a volunteer after completing her MBA at Cranfield School of Management. With a background in market research and recruitment, Amanda was an early Project Manager for the Trust, and spent some time as a trustee, before becoming Chief Executive in 2000.

Head of Finance, Administration & Control
Jim joined the team in March 2018, building on 15 years’ experience as a senior manager in local / regional voluntary sector organisations leading financial strategy, central support services, IT strategy, communications infrastructure and data security. A key element of Jim’s role is to build robust support services, infrastructure and effective policies and processes to underpin the Trust’s growth and development.
Head of Consultancy
With over 20 years’ experience in the commercial world as an experienced management consultant specialising in retail, logistics and organisational change, Alice has transferred her skills to support voluntary sector organisations. Since 2000, Alice has been a volunteer and a Project Manager, and became Operations Manager in 2012, supporting the regions and expanding The Trust’s services. Follow @DabrowskaAlice on Twitter.
Head of Development (Maternity leave)
Joanne Madders joined Cranfield Trust in September 2018 as the Trust’s new Head of Development. Joanne is responsible for overseeing the Trust’s fundraising activities, particularly our relationships with individual supporters and companies, and for our wider communications strategy. Joanne has experience gained from across the charitable sector and is thrilled to be able to work in support of the wider voluntary sector through Cranfield Trust.
Head of Development (Maternity cover)
Claire joined the Trust in June 2019 as Head of Development (Maternity Cover). Claire has worked in the not-for-profit and charity sector for over 20 years in a broad range of roles covering fundraising, marketing, project management and grant management. Prior to joining Cranfield Trust, Claire worked at Age UK, University College London, the Brendoncare Foundation and most recently was Head of Development for a global maritime charity. With a background in education and information management, Vanessa joined the Cranfield Trust in 2006. Vanessa liaises with charity clients and volunteers to ensure the smooth delivery of services, working with charities to discern and co-ordinate their consultancy requirements.
Communications & Marketing Manager
Having worked for local and national charities for the past 15 years, Roo understands the challenges non-profit's can face and the vital role they play in society. In 2016, Roo joined the Cranfield Trust team on a part-time basis, to manage the Trust' s marketing and communications.
With a degree in Creative Writing and experience within the charity sector; Sam joined Cranfield Trust in September 2019 as Communications Officer. Prior to joining Cranfield Trust, Sam worked as a freelance content creator and writer for global beauty brands. Karen joined the Cranfield Trust team in 2016 and is responsible for the smooth running of the Trust's office and supporting management functions. Karen is a skilled PA, administrator and reception manager, with 12 years experience working for the NHS.
Trusts and Foundations Manager
Paul joined the Trust in July 2019. After working in the film industry, he moved to the charity sector 15 years ago and has held senior fundraising positions at Music in Hospitals, The Orpheus Centre and Plantlife International and has worked as a consultant with many small charities. He is a Member of the Institute of Fundraising and the Royal Society for Public Health, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Trustee of the Independent Film Trust.
In 2017, Dino joined the Trust as coordinator of HRNet, our online HR information service. An employment lawyer by background, his personal ethos is to help organisations manage risk and treat staff fairly, the latter often affecting the former. Dino had previously been an HRNet volunteer and enjoyed helping charities on a range of matters from TUPE to discipline and grievance.

Project Manager - Scotland
Gillian's background is in the private sector with over 25 years of commercial experience both in the UK and internationally. She has held senior roles in blue chip companies spanning Financial Services, Travel and Healthcare with skills and expertise primarily in organisational change and operational efficiency. Gillian has also been a management consultant advising on the benefits of Homeworking assisting many companies successfully with this endeavour both in the UK and US. Gillian joined the Trust in 2016 as a Project Manager overseeing the projects for Scotland.
Project Manager - North West
Nick’s background is from the commercial world, working in senior roles with two blue chips and also a period of company ownership. He has expertise in business development and operational excellence. Nick has thorough knowledge of franchising and contracting and as a consequence has a passion for helping SME’s succeed. Nick has been a volunteer with The Trust since 2010 and has a commitment to the sustainability of the charity sector and the role this plays in our society.
Project Manager - North East
With >25 years commercial & leadership experience gained in large multi-nationals such as Akzo Nobel, Saint Gobain, Hilti & Jotun, Matthew first joined the Cranfield Trust in 2018 as a volunteer Management Consultant. Matthew holds an MBA from the Open University Business School, is an active Member of the Institute of Directors, Trustee for a North East multi academy trust and Business Advisor for Young Enterprise UK. Matthew also runs his own Consulting, Coaching & Training Company with clients across the UK.
Project Manager - Yorkshire and Humber
Jo has over 25 years’ experience in senior food industry roles working with family businesses through to multi nationals. With expertise in operations, strategy and change management. Jo holds an MBA from Durham University and also has her own consultancy working with food business clients. Jo joined the Trust as a volunteer in 2018.
Project Manager - South West
Marie is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales ("ICAEW") with over 28 years of accounting and auditing experience in a variety of management roles in Big Four and Top 20 firms in the UK and US, most recently in global outsourcing in the technology sector. Marie has also specialised in project management, business development, risk management and corporate governance. She has audited charities and has acted as Treasurer and Vice Chair on the Board of Trustees of a law centre. Jayne has over 25 years of commercial experience working in both the public and private sectors across government, digital, healthcare, education, financial services and tourism. She has held senior roles with Welsh Government to raise the profile of Wales as a location for inward investment . She also managed her own marketing consultancy for over 10 years. Jayne has a track record of leading brand, product, marketing and communications campaigns in domestic and international markets. Project Manager - Midlands
Trevor Kitching is a management consultant with over 30 years experience working with large companies, public sector organisations and SMEs across all business sectors. He specialises in procurement and the supply chain and acts as an independent verifier for the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply's corporate certification scheme as well as running his own independent consultancy.
Project Manager - London
Fatima has worked in consulting since 2008, working with numerous clients across the public and voluntary sectors as well as central government. With over twenty years’ experience in learning and organisational development, aligning strategy, people and processes, leading key change strategies and working with senior teams and individuals. Fatima is also a qualified and accredited coach, working with individuals and teams to enhance their performance both personally and professionally. Fatima joined the trust in 2018 as Project Manager overseeing our projects in London.
Project Manager - London
Erik joined the team in January 2019, following 30 years of HR management, general management, training and consulting roles in the USA, throughout Europe and in Asia. The UK has been home for over a decade. Most of Erik’s work has been in the commercial world, but he also has experience in the non-profit sector. His work as a volunteer consultant led to a keen interest in becoming much more involved with the Cranfield Trust. Erik has an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He enjoys volunteering for the Sea Scouts.
Project Manager - London
Claudia joined Cranfield Trust following a rewarding 20-year career across the public and voluntary sector; heading and advising on national and regional people development initiatives. Alongside this expertise Claudia created a portfolio career offering consultancy across sectors where she inspired renewed leadership, calibrated strategic direction with organisational development and facilitated dialogue around impact analysis. Prior to moving to London Claudia held the position of CEO in a regional north east charity where she focused on the alignment of internal competency and long-term sustainability. Claudia also has personal experience of being a Chair and a trustee.
Project Manager - South East & East of England
In addition to his role with The Cranfield Trust Ian works as an independent management consultant. He has worked on projects in the energy, health, education and not for profit sectors. Prior to this he worked for Santander Bank and for a project management consultancy. He has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management is a trustee of a charity supporting adults with learning disabilities.

Associate Project Manager
With over twenty years’ experience of international assignments, Roger continues to act as a consultant to government and private sector projects, working on organisation and operations reviews, training and development in countries including Jordan, Afghanistan and Uganda.
Associate Project Manager
A qualified project manager and a volunteer with the Trust for over 12 years, Olive’s varied work experience spans agriculture, public relations, journalism, accountancy, public health and latterly corporate governance and managing corporate services in the NHS. She has worked in and has developed partnerships across the private, public and voluntary sectors and has a special interest in organisational development. An experienced non-executive director, she has chaired and serves as a member of a number of organisational boards and committees and is currently a business owner working in virtual business management.
Associate Project Manager
After 11 years with Shell, gaining a thorough grounding in everything from Sales and Marketing to Finance and Operations, Dawn launched her own consultancy business specialising in organisational development and change management - in particular working alongside senior managers and team leaders to bring about effective implementation of business strategies and change initiatives through a blend of consultancy, coaching and facilitation. Dawn become a volunteer for the Trust in 2012. She is also a Trustee of two Theatre Charities – Half Moon Young People’s Theatre and Sedos.
Associate Project Manager
Sue first joined the Trust as a Project Manager in 2002, and “returned to the fold” in 2019 following a 10-year stint overseas as a Director of a large retail business in Italy. With > 30 years’ experience in the commercial sector, Sue has worked with a range of leading UK and international retailers to deliver significant business improvements by aligning strategy, people, processes and systems. Sue works as an independent Management Consultant and is passionate about the benefits of sharing business expertise from the commercial sector to help build successful charities.
