Why volunteer with us?
Last year our network of volunteers worked with 421 charities on pro bono management consultancy projects, donating a staggering 15,840 hours of their time to power social good. Our volunteers work with charity leaders, offering support with everything from planning their business strategy to producing a realistic marketing plan.
By becoming a Cranfield Trust volunteer you will be joining a powerful network of over 1,000 like-mined business people, who are all keen to make a difference to charities in their local area.
How you can get involved.
We understand that juggling family life, work and leisure time can be a real challenge. Whether you can volunteer for several hours a month or just as a one-off a few times a year, we value your time and the difference you can make to the charities.
We have a number of volunteer roles designed to support charities in different ways, all of them have the same ethos - to help build successful charities.
Take a look at our volunteers opportunities and see what works best for you.
Volunteer management consultant
Volunteer time: approx. 12 - 15 days (usually over the course of 6 to12 months)
As a volunteer management consultant, you will work directly with senior charity leaders to help them find solutions to typically provide five to seven days’ time over a few months to a year and will have a dedicated Cranfield Trust Project Manager to support you.
Volunteer masterclass presenter
Volunteer time: approx. 1.5 days (includes planning time)
Every year we run a series of topical masterclasses exclusively for voluntary organisations. These classes are presented by experts on subjects including business planning, marketing, social media, finance and HR. Volunteer masterclass presenters share their time over an afternoon to help small to medium size charities learn about best practice, new trends and to offer practical knowledge and solutions.
Volunteer away day facilitator
Volunteer time: approx. 2 - 3 days
Charities benefit immensely from having an independent volunteer facilitator to help plan and facilitate their team away days, strategic planning days and trustee days.
Volunteer time: approx. 1 - 2 hours every 4 to 6 weeks
Becoming a Cranfield Trust mentor means becoming a senior level ‘critical friend’, someone who can share their knowledge and experience, to help support leadership decisions and impact. You will work with a charity leader to offer highly skilled insight, innovative ideas, challenge, and reinforcement.
All of our volunteers share one thing in common - they all have a wealth of business expertise and want to make a difference to charities in their local community. Whether you're the CEO of a large multi national, a senior leader or an independent management consultant, we’d love to hear from you.
