Why cash flow and forecasting? In the current economic climate, financial planning, budgeting and forecasting are hot topics every charity needs to get on top of to build resilience and ensure sustainability. If your funders and Board don’t already ask you to provide a cash flow forecast, they soon will be. This Masterclass will be interactive and you will get the opportunity to ask questions and work through examples to help you understand how to manage money and understand the impact of good money management on your charity’s accounts. You will also get the opportunity to meet your peers from charities across Bristol and the surrounding area, and you will receive helpful advice and tips on resources available to you when you get back to your desk.

Who will benefit? The Masterclass is aimed at non-finance professionals in finance roles at charities, who are responsible for aspects of financial management but do not necessarily have a finance or accounting background. Charity Trustees are also welcome, to increase their knowledge and level of confidence with financial reports, especially around funding, costs and forward planning.

About the presenter

Cranfield Trust South West Project Manager Marie Langan has over 29 years of accounting and auditing experience in a variety of management roles in Big Four and Top 20 firms in the UK and US. Marie has specialised in outsourced accounting and tax services, project management and contracting, but also includes business development, risk management and corporate governance among her responsibilities, making her an all-rounder and well placed to appreciate the business support needed by small and large organisations, whether profit making or not. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales ("ICAEW"), has audited charities in the UK and US and has acted as Treasurer, Vice Chair and Chair on the Board of Trustees of a Law Centre.
