In your experience, what are the benefits of working with Cranfield Trust?
The benefits of working with the Cranfield Trust outweigh the commitment of the time you give. It is sometimes easy to give money to a charity, but you often do not see where that money goes – the Cranfield Trust allow me to give the gift of time and my knowledge. I personally enjoy seeing the charity or organisation that you work with making progress.
What did you learn from working with Cranfield Trust?
I am always learning when I work with a charity – either from them or through doing additional research to help address any problem they have. I've gone back into my organisation and asked more questions. I’ve slowed the pace down to understand more and act in a consultative way. I personally think that volunteering has benefited my employer as the experience has meant I’ve developed new skills that I can apply to my day-to-day working, its fostered fresh thinking in everything that I do.
Why would you recommend others to support/work with Cranfield Trust?
The people that work at the Cranfield Trust make the whole process incredibly easy for me – I am connected to a charity and off I go! I have never felt under pressure and, working with the charity I can organise what times work best to suit us all.
What is special about Cranfield Trust and why does it matter?
It pains me to see so many charities investing in expensive consultants – there is always a time and place for this but often they just need a confidence boost and draw on the experience of someone else. That is where the Cranfield Trust comes in. By offering pro-bono consultancy more of the charity’s resources can be invested where it matters.
